Retirement planning involves many connected decisions. We help you understand how your income, pensions, savings, investments, insurance, taxes and expenses may develop over time.
The analysis can address questions such as:
- When can I afford to retire?
- What level of spending can I maintain?
- Should I receive my pension fund benefits as an annuity, a lump sum or a combination of both?
- What is the effect of early or partial retirement?
- Should I make voluntary payments into my pension fund?
- How should I organise my savings and investments?
- What could happen if investment returns, inflation or other assumptions change?
- How can I prepare for an inheritance, a property purchase or another major life change?
The questions and scenarios are adapted to each client.
An interactive process
We begin by discussing your situation, objectives and main questions.
You then provide the financial information needed for the analysis. This may include income, expenses, pensions, savings, investments, insurance, property, mortgages and taxes.
We use this information to prepare an initial long-term projection and a first selection of scenarios.
The next stage is interactive. Together, we review the assumptions and results. You can question the analysis, change the assumptions and suggest other possibilities. New ideas and scenarios often emerge during this discussion.
This process helps you understand how the different parts of your financial situation are connected. It also shows which decisions have the greatest effect on your future.
What you receive
The initial analysis includes:
- A structured review of your financial situation
- A long-term projection based on agreed assumptions
- A first selection of scenarios for discussion
- An interactive session to review and question the results
- The possibility to change assumptions and examine additional ideas
- A comparison of the selected scenarios
- An explanation of the main choices and their financial effects
- A complete final report
The final report presents the framework, assumptions and full financial projections for each selected scenario. It also presents the main conclusions and possible actions.
The report is important, but it is only one part of the service. Much of the understanding is developed during the interactive review. You take part in the analysis, test different ideas and learn how the main decisions may affect your financial future.
Reviews and additional analysis
Financial planning is not a one-time exercise. Your situation, objectives and financial environment may change.
A later review can update your information, assumptions and projections. It can also examine new questions or decisions.
The same approach can be used to study the financial impact of a major life change. Examples include buying or selling a home, changing or losing a job, receiving an inheritance, separating or changing an important financial arrangement.
IF Oxymore provides analysis and financial coaching. We do not manage your money or sell financial products. You remain responsible for every decision and for its implementation.
